Club Committee
The
Chairperson (Stuart West)
shall preside at all General Meetings of the Club and, where possible, at
all meetings of the Executive Committee. He/She
shall be responsible for guiding the activities of the Club in accordance
with its general policy as expressed by the majority of its members. The
Chairperson shall represent, or arrange for the representation of the Club
at BCU regional level and at meetings of the local Sports Council and other
organisations. The Chairperson shall be responsible for health and safety.
The Honorary Treasurer (Simon Davies)
shall be responsible for the collection of all monies due to the Club
together with the responsibility for payment of all expenditure authorised
by the Executive Committee. The duties extend to the supervision of all
members designated to collect monies on behalf of the Club together with
the responsibility to keep and produce records as far as is possible for
all activities that involve Club Monies and the preparation of accounts
acceptable for V.A.T. and audit.
The Honorary Secretary (Faye Smallman)
shall be responsible for the organisation of Annual General and
special General Meetings and recording of minutes relating to such meetings
and also of all meetings of the Executive Committee. He/she will be
responsible for all correspondence relating to the general business of the
Club. At the Chairperson’s discretion extracts of Minutes of the Executive
Committee Meetings shall be published and displayed on the Club notice
board.
The Membership Secretary (John Talbot)
will develop the membership of the Club and integrate new members. The
Membership Secretary shall be responsible for ensuring that all membership
subscriptions are collected, all appropriate membership records are
maintained and have responsibility for the holding and distribution keys in
line with committee decisions. He/She will
allocate boat storage for privately owned craft ensure the collection of
the appropriate fee.
The Child Protection Officer (Mark Edwards)
will
be responsible ensuring that the children and vulnerable adults within the
club are cared for in an appropriate manner. All complains with
regard to children or vulnerable adults will first be brought to committee
or Trustees as appropriate through this officer.
The Sprint Racing Captain (VACCANT)
shall
be responsible the entries of club members in the sprint Regattas and
arranging for representation at the Team leaders meetings at such events.
Any Club resource allocation at such events must be approved by the Sprint
Racing Captain. They will present a progress report at the Annual General
Meeting.

The Marathon Racing Captain (Emily Bird)
shall be responsible the entries of club members in the Regional Hasler Marathon Races, Hasler
Finals and National marathon Championships. Any Club resource
allocation at such events must be approved by the Marathon Racing Captain,
any clashes in use of Club resources shall be decided between the Marathon
and Sprint racing Captains. The Marathon Racing Captain shall be
responsible for the allocation of racing
Boats during training. They will present a progress report at the Annual
General Meeting.
Newsletter Editor (Linda Bromyard)
shall be responsible for issuing (or arranging for the issue of) club
newsletters and general communications within the club, Publicising any
canoe club schemes and helping to raise the profile of Worcester Canoe club
and canoeing in the local area.
Recreational Paddling Officer (Liam Grover)
will be responsible for encouraging participation in canoeing and
Kayaking in all forms other than sprint and marathon racing. They will
present a progress report at the Annual General Meeting.
Coaching Co-ordinator (Sue Hawthorn)
shall
be responsible for co-ordinating all aspects of coaching, advertising all
courses of instruction on the Club Notice boards and in such publications
as the Club may see fit. He/she will liaise with the appropriate
authorities for the use of swimming pools and training facilities. He/she
will give a progress report at the Annual General Meeting.
Club Steward (Jayne Moran)
shall be
responsible for seeing that the bar is managed in a proper manner, that it is
kept clean at all times, that a high standard of hygiene is maintained,
that the opening hours are adhered to, that the sale and consumption of
alcohol is in accordance with the Club rules. He/she will order supplies as
required and submit the invoices to the Honorary Treasury for settlement.
Building Maintenance Manager (Dave Walsh)
shall be responsible for overseeing the organising of
the maintenance and development of the fabric, installations, decoration
and furnishings of the Club buildings in their entirety. He/She will organise the cleaning of the premises.
The General Member (Gary Leeke)
shall aid other committee members where appropriate.
The Junior Representatives (Co-Opted) - Jonny Tye shall
represent the interests and views of the juniors within the club.
