Race entry

Notices will be up in time for you to make your May regatta entries before Easter and your September regatta entries before the school summer holidays.

Please pay Sue Hawthorn by cheque made payable to Worcester Canoe Club. Please do not give me cheques if I am wearing canoeing kit (wet or dry!)

Seniors – please note the introduction of 5k racing as follows:

K1 April
K2 May
K4 June

This year it is just 3 classes men, women and Canadian, however I hear on the grapevine that these categroies will be split in due course if there are sufficient entries – so get out there and race if you want the classes to develop.

Also Masters will race in AGE GROUPS at the Nationals like the juniors do – so come on you silver warriors work out your age groups!!!!

APRIL REGATTA – 4/5 April 2009

National Watersport Centre, Nottingham

SIGN UP DEADLINE IS 12th March 2009

Please sign up on the sheet in the club if you are planning to race at April Regatta. Indicate which races you wish to be entered for by ticking the appropriate boxes.

Only sign up for those races you wish to do – once the entries have been made you are committed to paying for them even if you change your mind or are unable to race for whatever reason

Please note the order of racing, 500m races are on Saturday and the 1000m (and presumably the 200m) are on Sunday.

Because heats and finals for each distance are on the same day it is possible to enter just one distance and come up for one day instead of the whole weekend.
Fees are per race entered -
Senior: K1-£5.00, K2-£10.00 (£5.00 each), K4-£20 (£5.00 each).
Junior: K1-£4.00, K2-£8.00 (£4.00 each), K4-£16 (£4.00 each
Late entries attract a surcharge of £1 per boat for K1 and K2 races
Lightning racing is charged at a fixed fee of £10 per day

Don't forget that it is your responsibility to get your K1 and/or K2 up to Nottingham – if you need more boats than you have room for on your car then you will need to try to find someone with spare V's to help out. It is sometimes possible to reduce the number of boats by arranging to share, but this can only be assessed very close to the event once the timetable has been published
